Overview
Communications Specialist - Graphic Design. Located in Washington, D.C. this role supports Farm Credit Council’s reputation management and branding efforts by creating compelling imagery and graphics for social media, collateral materials, and digital properties. The position also supports website updates, meetings, events, and membership databases. The salary range is $61,000.00/yr - $92,000.00/yr with the possibility of an annual bonus opportunity; remote work is allowed on Mondays and Fridays. Base pay range $61,000.00/yr - $92,000.00/yr Job Responsibilities
Serve as the primary designer for Farm Credit’s social media channels by creating engaging graphics, imagery and short-form videos. Collaborate with the communications team to ensure a consistent and creative approach across all Farm Credit channels. Partner with the entire communications team to ensure creative projects are completed in a timely manner. Uphold Farm Credit national brand standards by ensuring consistency across all print and digital materials. Design and maintain fact sheets highlighting Farm Credit’s impact nationwide. Update and maintain content on FarmCredit.com, including designing new pages as needed. Work with colleagues to create marketing materials for Farm Credit-sponsored events and meetings. Apply user experience (UX) best practices when creating graphics for event registration pages and mobile apps. Manage Farm Credit’s digital asset library (Web Dam) and provide collateral support to Farm Credit associations. Oversee relationships with association membership software vendors. Update and maintain Farm Credit membership data across all databases, including FarmCredit.com. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Communications, Marketing or Graphic Design. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in communications, graphic design or marketing. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and experience creating graphics required. Experience with website management (Drupal, WordPress and/or equivalent) preferred. Experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro) preferred. Knowledge of how to optimize graphics for engagement on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn are required. Knowledge and understanding of current trends and best practices in digital/social media and design - not just personally, but professionally representing a brand, organization or company voice. Knowledge of Congress, the administration and the political process preferred. Working knowledge of user experience (UX) design preferred. Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills required. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
