About The Position:
This position will work as part of our existing ITS Media team providing troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, and repair of Audio-Visual equipment and systems for classrooms and other supported university spaces. Specifically, the media associate will be expected to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair AV equipment and systems in classrooms and other supported spaces; Perform routine maintenance on AV systems and classroom equipment; Coordinate with other technical support teams and vendors to ensure timely resolution of technical issues; And effectively work with faculty and staff to train them on proper use of AV technology and systems. The following types of systems are expected to be supported by the successful candidate: Audio (Program and Speech, DSP-based systems); Projection and Display Devices; Source Control Devices; Custom Control Systems; Audio and Video Systems. Occasional evening and/or weekend work is required. Information Technology Services (ITS) provides exceptional technology services and solutions that enrich the student experience, advance teaching and learning, improve outcomes, and effectively manage and protect institutional data. ITS supports all technology needs inside and outside of the classroom and handles administrative computing, enterprise application management, network, and telecommunications, as well as card access and data center infrastructure. Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in electronics, communications, or a related field with 2 years of technical customer service experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to be LENS cleared to operate state vehicles
- Must be able to identify colors used for standard wire coding
- Must be able to ascend and descend a ladder to install and/or repair AV equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to move AV equipment across campus for various classroom needs and events
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff, and administrators
- CTS-I and or CTS-D certifications
- Experience with ticket tracking systems
- Experience with networked AV systems
- Crestron, Extron, or other certifications as it relates to programming A/V control systems
- Experience with Audio (Program and Speech, DSP-based systems); Projection and Display Devices; Source Control Devices; Custom Control Systems; Audio and Video Teleconferencing; Digital Signage Systems; Video Wall Display Systems; RF Systems.
- BiAmp TesiraForte certification
- Dante 1, 2, and or 3 certification
- 2 or more years of experience in AV Support and/or in a highly complex higher education environment
