Cooley Marine is expanding and seeking a motivated Marine Service Writer to join our Stratford, CT team. The Service Writer is the key liaison between clients, technicians, and management—responsible for scheduling, work order management, and client communications. This role offers significant growth potential for the right candidate. The service writer is to provide administrative and customer service support to facilitate the successful completion of company workshop & contract projects. Serve as the primary point of contact for all workshop clientele, keeping clients apprised of project status, communicating project changes as well as resolving client issues as they arise. Liaison between shop personnel & project management to implement processes and procedures for business growth while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and schedule service work for multiple projects.
•  Update schedules to adapt to changing priorities.
•  Communicate with technicians and managers to align resources.
•  Create, track, and maintain work orders in Pier Vantage ERP.
•  Ensure accuracy of job details, including scope, materials, and timelines.
•  Monitor progress and provide updates to clients and management.
•  Act as primary point of contact for clients.
•  Provide updates, answer questions, and address concerns.
•  Support managers with accurate information flow.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in service writing, scheduling, or coordination (marine/auto ).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP experience (Pier Vantage a plus).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Customer service focused.

Compensation & Benefits:

• $24–$30/hour, commensurate with experience.
