Position description
The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music's Department of Musicology invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in Jewish Music for the Winter quarter of the 2025-26 academic year. Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with teaching load.
Responsibilities will include assigned undergraduate musicology course(s) and may include supervision of graduate student teaching assistants.
Applicants should have an established regional, national, and/or international reputation as a music educator with expertise and experience in the exploration of the history of Jewish music. University teaching experience preferred. A PhD in Musicology or related field is required.
Candidates should submit: a cover letter stating interest in the position, a comprehensive curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and a response to the University\'s Mission Statement. In addition, please provide names and contact information for at least three professional references. Applicants may consider including online video links representing their teaching although doing so is not required.
