Cimarron is seeking a
Senior Plant Designer
to support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the US Air Force's Sentinel program (GBSD) in Ogden, UT. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch infrastructure at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a vital nuclear modernization program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground based leg of the nuclear triad -- the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). We invite you to join our team for this phenomenal opportunity to design the future ground leg of the U.S.'s nuclear deterrent!
This is an on-site position that offers a 9X80 work schedule (i.e., every other Friday off), paid overtime, and a great work/life balance. For candidates not local to the Ogden area, a relocation allowance can be provided.
Cimarron is offering a $2,500 referral bonus for all full-time hires!
Key Duties:
Plan, develop, and review Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) design work, drawings, and documentation for DOD and USAF projects. Prepare 3D designs and floor plans using Smart Plant S3D for piping, HVAC, and equipment layout. Coordinate 3D model activities and resolve interferences with other disciplines. Interface with engineers, construction teams, and suppliers to support model/space control and design accuracy. Ensure PD&P designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and standards, including OSHA, NFPA, IBC, ASME B31.3, and ASHRAE. Monitor and check design work for quality, compliance, and constructability. Participate in constructability reviews and facilitate technical discussions with clients and external stakeholders. Develop PD&P systems for complex infrastructure such as drainage, foundations, and steel detailing with minimal supervision. Prepare material requisitions, bid evaluations, design estimates, and work plans. Coordinate and support the technical work of engineers, designers, and drafters. Communicate technical issues to upper management and recommend solutions. Support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program during the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant, please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your driver's license or state ID. Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use. Experience using SmartPlant 3D. Experience supporting a DoD/DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, or USAF program. High School diploma or equivalent and 9 or more years of experience, or an Associate of Arts or Science in Engineering/CAD with 7 or more years of experience. Compensation: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
