Ellipsis Labs is seeking a Senior Visual Designer to define and elevate the visual language of our exchange and brand across high-density, real-time trading interfaces. You'll partner with engineering and leadership to craft a cohesive, trustworthy look and feel - from component libraries to data visualization, motion, and launch assets. In this role, you will:
- Own the visual system for Phoenix and future products: typography, color, spacing, iconography, design tokens, and component theming
- Turn complex trading mechanics and data into clear, scannable visual hierarchies and data visualizations that perform under real-time constraints
- Build and maintain a Figma library/design system, ensuring consistency and speed of implementation; provide developer-ready specs and assets
- Drive visual polish on critical surfaces (order entry, positions, charts, risk states), including loading/empty/error states and micro-interactions/motion
- Partner closely with engineers to ensure visual fidelity in production and pragmatic choices under technical constraints
- Own the company and product brand expression across product surfaces and key moments
- Incorporate feedback, user signals, and metrics to iterate quickly without sacrificing craft
Required
- 2+ years designing visual systems for complex digital products, ideally high-density or data-heavy (trading/finance, analytics, dev tools, etc.).
- Portfolio demonstrating strong visual craft (type, color, layout), system thinking (tokens/components), and clear data presentation.
- Fluency in Figma (components/variants, auto-layout) and handoff practices; attention to detail across states and edge cases.
- Comfort collaborating with engineers; ability to balance visual quality with performance and feasibility.
- High ownership and bias to ship; you sweat the details and move quickly.
- Familiarity with crypto/Web3 design patterns and user behaviors
- Exposure to Solana or similar blockchain ecosystems
