User Experience Design Specialist

SAP America, Inc. seeks a User Experience Design Specialist at our Newtown Square, PA location to use SAP business requirements and any technical limitations, as well as be responsible for conceiving and conducting interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes.

Expectations and tasks include:

  • Design the overall functionality of the product, and in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing.
  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
  • Facilitate the client's product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products.
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
  • Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
  • Work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
  • Collaborate and communicate closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model, to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.
  • Resolve user pain points through great design.
  • Act as a solid performer with strong communication skills, proactively building relationships and deepening influence at the team level.

Education and occupational experience:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field of study and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/skills and competencies experience:

Experience must involve three (3) years in the following:

  • Defining roles and use cases for a given domain focused on user need.
  • Conceptualizing and creating design mockups and prototypes applying interaction design best practices.
  • Creating design systems for use in interaction design, using Figma design tool, and applying UI guidelines to maintain product design standards.

Position requires two (2) years of experience involving:

  • Planning, executing and analyzing user research studies virtually or in the field to extract insights to be applied to improvements to the software with techniques including both exploratory and evaluative methods.
  • Writing design specification documentation used to communicate with engineering and product management about expected interaction design.
  • Assisting product team with UX quality assurance checks and creating tickets in the Jira system for issues that have been identified for fixing.
  • Facilitating workshop using design thinking techniques for internal and customer facing participants.
