HOURS: Part-Time, 10 hours a week

LOCATION & SHIFT:

• Oceanport Branch: 8 Iroquois Avenue, Oceanport, NJ 07757
• Days, evenings and weekends

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Shelve materials using the Dewey Classification System and alphabetical filing systems.
• Check shelves to ensure materials are filed properly.
• Organize materials such as books, audio books and DVDs and other resources.
• Maintain the overall cleanliness and neatness of the library shelves and book displays.
• Stand or walk for extended periods while performing shelving and maintenance tasks.
• Kneel or bend down to access lower shelves or reach books on the floor.
• Reach and/or use step stools for accessing materials on higher parts of shelves.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
• Ability to lift and carry books and materials up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of library classification systems and books genres is a plus.
