Note: This description reflects the requirements and expectations for a full-time entry level designer role with preference for experience in hospitality design, particularly restaurant design in New York City.
Responsibilities
- Develop and represent hospitality concepts from concept through execution
- 3D modeling and renderings (Rhino, SketchUp) are required
- Assist in the execution of drawing sets, from schematic design to construction documents
- Research, select and document material and FF&E specifications
- Design, document and execute custom FF&E elements
- Communicate with team, consultants and clients throughout all project phases
Qualifications
- 0-3 years of professional experience with an interior design firm and/or architecture firm
- Professional degree (bachelor’s or master’s in interior design or architecture)
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment with frequent deadlines
- Highly motivated and capable of organizing and meeting project schedules
- Interest in working across the fields of both architecture and interior design
- Strong communication skills (direct communication with consultants and clients)
Additional requirements
- Understanding of hospitality projects from concept to execution and the skill sets required
- Ability to work independently under the supervision of a partner or senior designer
- Applicants must have a valid US working permit for international candidates
