Director of Music Ministry and Organist (FT), St. Mary Parish, Winchester, MA

St Mary Church of Winchester is seeking a dedicated Director of Music Ministry/Organist. The ideal candidate will oversee sung liturgies, foster community prayer through music, and maintain a vibrant music program in collaboration with the Pastor. Responsibilities include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide organ music for weekend Masses, funerals, weddings, Holy Days, and special liturgical events
• Direct and schedule cantors for Masses and funerals
• Lead and develop the parish choir (September-June)
• Direct the Christmas and Easter Children’s choirs
• Assist in recruiting choir members
• Plan liturgical music with the pastor
• Supervise maintenance of organs, pianos, and audio equipment in coordination with staff
• Consult with the pastor on music program goals and evaluations
• Coordinate or instruct on special parish music programs
• Manage coverage for liturgical music during absences

Job Qualifications:

• Practicing Catholic actively participating in Sacraments
• At least 5 years of experience in music ministry preferred
• Excellent vocal and organ skills
• Bachelor’s degree in music
• Deep knowledge of Catholic liturgical traditions, including wedding, funeral, and Sacramental music
• Ability and patience to lead and teach choir; experience in choir direction
• Effective communication skills and team-oriented attitude
