However, it does not necessarily imply there are immediate openings. If you meet the required minimum qualifications, your application will be included in the adjunct pool for possible assignments in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters of the academic year. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions. A Bachelor's degree with a major related to Music; AND either A or B below A) Thirty (30) hours or two (2) semester units of coursework or classwork in understanding the needs of the older adult taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the district. This requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor. B) One (1) year of professional experience working with older adults; OR , An Associate degree with a major related to Music; AND Two (2) years of occupational experience related to Music; AND Sixty (60) hours or four (4) semester units of coursework or classwork in understanding the needs of the older adult, taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the district. This last requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor; OR , The equivalent; AND, Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of continuing education students and staff.
