The Opportunity As a Senior Product Designer for Monetization and Notifications, you’ll craft seamless and valuable user experiences at the intersection of product growth and customer communication. Your focus will be on how users discover, evaluate, and adopt Postman’s premium offerings and how timely, contextual messages help users get more value from the product. You’ll design the systems and surfaces that shape key monetization moments—like trials, usage insights, billing transparency, upgrades, cancellations—and meaningful notifications that guide users across their journey. This work directly impacts user satisfaction, product engagement, and revenue growth. This is a high-impact role where design decisions are tightly coupled with business outcomes—and a deep understanding of the developer and buyer personas is essential. What You’ll Do
Own the design across monetization and notifications, from strategy through execution—ensuring frictionless upgrades, transparent billing, and clarity-focused communication. Collaborate with PMs, engineers, analysts, and GTM partners to build user-first experiences that also drive business outcomes like conversion, expansion, and retention. Create thoughtful systems for in-product messages—modals, banners, toasts, emails, and other channels—that feel timely, non-intrusive, and action-oriented. Work on product experiments that test behavioral nudges, pricing awareness, upgrade flows, and plan education. Lead user testing to understand friction in the buying journey and post-purchase experience. Continuously refine how Postman delivers key updates (feature announcements, usage alerts, upgrade prompts) in a way that builds trust and enables growth. Contribute to overhauling Postman’s existing Notifications and Monetization systems by surfacing key capabilities that should be added. Advocate for a unified and ethical approach to monetization UX across the product. About You
You have 5+ years of end-to-end product design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or developer tools. Located in the San Francisco Bay Area or open to relocating. You’ve worked on growth, monetization, pricing, or notification systems, and understand how to design for both user success and business goals. You can vibe code—you might not ship it, but you can read and interpret JSON payloads, webhook events, API errors, or basic scripts. You’re excited about thinking like a developer and a buyer persona for developers—understanding the technical mindset of end users and the value drivers for engineering leaders or decision-makers. You’ve worked in experimentation-driven teams, formulating hypotheses and using data to validate design decisions. You’re highly collaborative and can navigate ambiguity with product managers, analysts, and engineers. You balance big-picture system thinking with polished UI execution—prototyping, validating, and iterating quickly. You obsess over crafting the right UX with great attention to detail. You proactively seek feedback and communicate clearly—making your work transparent, inclusive, and focused on impact. What Sets You Apart
You design for developers not just as a persona, but as a lived mindset—you understand their tools, workflows, and aversion to unnecessary friction. You have a strong sense of designing ethically for monetization—emphasizing transparency, control, and trust while guiding users through upgrades or billing changes. You’re curious about how technical buyers evaluate tools—and how design can support that journey with clarity and context. You pay attention to details like how billing information is surfaced, what triggers usage alerts, or how admins experience plan limits—and design accordingly. You’re energized by systems-level thinking, building frameworks that scale across multiple user touchpoints and use cases. You can hold your own in a technical conversation. The reasonably estimated base salary for this role ranges from $190,000 to $210,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. What Else?
