Role Overview
As our Audio-Visual CAD Drafter, you’ll be responsible for producing detailed CAD drawings and schematics for AV systems in commercial settings. You’ll collaborate with engineers, project managers, and installation teams to ensure every design is accurate, efficient, and installation ready.
️ Key Responsibilities
- Create 2D and 3D CAD drawings for AV systems using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software
- Interpret architectural plans and technical specifications to develop AV layouts
- Draft rack elevations, cable schedules, signal flow diagrams, and floor plans
- Coordinate with engineering and design teams to ensure spatial compatibility
- Maintain organized documentation and version control for all drawings
- Support installation teams with technical drawings and on-site clarifications
Requirements
Must-Have:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit or Visio a plus)
- Experience drafting AV systems for commercial environments
- Strong understanding of AV components, signal flow, and infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Nice-to-Have:
- CTS or related AV industry certification
- Experience with BIM workflows
- Familiarity with AV design software like D-Tools or Bluebeam
