About the Role:
As a Kitchen Designer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming residential spaces by creating functional, aesthetically pleasing kitchen environments tailored to client needs and lifestyles. You will collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and practical requirements, translating these insights into detailed design plans. Your expertise will guide the selection of cabinetry, millwork, flooring, and fixtures, ensuring cohesive integration within the overall interior architecture. You will oversee the design process from concept through to installation, coordinating with contractors and suppliers to maintain quality and timelines. Ultimately, your work will enhance the value and enjoyment of residential homes by delivering innovative, customized kitchen solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in kitchen and bath design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating residential projects.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of cabinetry, millwork, flooring materials, and residential renovation processes.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification from a recognized professional organization such as NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association).
- Experience with sustainable and eco-friendly design practices.
- Familiarity with project management software and construction documentation.
- Background in millwork fabrication or cabinetry installation.
- Additional training or coursework in space planning and ergonomic design.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients to assess their kitchen design needs, preferences, and budget constraints.
- Develop detailed kitchen layouts and space plans using industry-standard design software.
- Select appropriate materials, cabinetry, millwork, and flooring that align with the design concept and client expectations.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and installation teams to ensure accurate execution of design plans.
- Stay current with trends in kitchen and bath design, residential renovation, and interior architecture to provide innovative solutions.
- Prepare and present design proposals, including 3D renderings and material samples, to clients for approval.
- Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure successful completion of kitchen design projects.
