Assistant Technical Designer/Product Developer Job at Conjetta Designs in Saint
Conjetta Designs, Saint Louis, MO, US
Job Description
🌟 We're Hiring: Assistant Technical Designer / Product Developer 🌟
Part-Time to Full-Time | Hybrid | Women-Led. Black-Owned. Fiercely Creative.
At Conjetta Designs, we design like visionaries and execute like bosses. We're a full-service fashion development and production house known for getting it done beautifully and on time—from first sketch to final delivery. Woman-owned, Black-owned, and proud of it, our team is bold, innovative, and unapologetically passionate about great design and intentional production. Conjetta Designs is proud to be #femaleowned #blackowned #veteranowned #femalerun.
We're currently seeking an Assistant Technical Designer / Product Developer who is equal parts detail diva, problem solver, and style strategist to support our growing team of powerhouse women (and a few fab men). If you’re organized to your core, technically skilled, and want to help bring fashion dreams to life—you might be our next Conjetta girl (or guy!).
This is a hybrid role that touches all corners of the product development life cycle—from the first measurement spec to production-ready gold. Your days will be a mix of:
- ✨ Creating and maintaining spec packages, BOMs, tech packs, style blocks, trim artwork, and tech sketches (mostly in PLM, Illustrator, and shared drives)
- 🔍 Sourcing inspiration samples, fabrics, trims, and all the tiny details that make a collection sing
- 📁 Organizing digital and physical assets like a true fashion librarian
- 📆 Tracking styles through development calendars and keeping our project boards and WIPs updated like a pro
- 🎨 Assisting on daily tasks and special projects (and there’s always something fun happening)
- ✉️ Communicating with global factories to support smooth development and approvals (PPs, TOPs, samples—you’ll be on it)
- 🧵 Supporting fittings, taking notes, making fit comments, and sending clean, clear updates to partners
- 🪡 Translating design vision into commercial-quality, production-ready garments
We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just check boxes but brings their own flair to the mix. You should have:
- Serious organizational skills — like, you manage a dozen calendars and 100 email threads without blinking
- Confidence in specing, measuring samples, and understanding grade rules
- Experience assisting or conducting fit sessions and adjusting tech packs accordingly
- A working knowledge of patternmaking and garment construction
- Comfort communicating with overseas and domestic factories
- Strong technical flats skills in Adobe Illustrator
- Solid understanding of fabric types, finishes, content, and how they affect design
- Familiarity with knits, wovens, women’s apparel (accessories = bonus points!)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Microsoft Excel
- PLM experience is great—but not required if you’re a fast learner
- Clear, respectful communicator who thrives in a team and takes feedback with grace
- Problem-solver who brings solutions, not drama
- Ready to learn, grow, and contribute in a fast-paced (but always supportive) environment
- Someone who aligns with Conjetta's values: empowerment, equity, excellence, and authenticity
- Works hard but can let loose! We enjoy group outings, workout classes, and happy hours together, so come ready for a new group of besties!
- Degree in Apparel Design, Technical Design, or Product Development (or equivalent experience)
- 1-3 years experience in a similar role
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to dive into all aspects of development
- Must be a culture fit—humble, hungry, and ready to bring your full creative self to work
- Part-time: ~20–25 hours/week
- Flexible hours with potential to grow into a full-time role within 3–6 months for the right person
- Most work will be done in office, but full time staff can WFH when projects allow.
- Office is located in beautiful and historic Lafayette Square in St. Louis, MO
