Overview

Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced, and professional brass instructor to teach part-time at Riverdale Music Academy in Riverdale, New Jersey. We are looking for instructors who will teach IN PERSON.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in-person brass lessons; standard lesson duration is 45 minutes. Early childhood lessons (ages 4–9) are 30 minutes.
  • Provide reliable, consistent instruction; focus on punctuality and student progress.
  • Maintain a schedule with a minimum of two 4-hour teaching blocks per week, within the available blocks Monday through Friday from 3:15pm–7:45pm.
  • Prepare lesson plans and communicate with families and school staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong music background evidenced by a degree in music performance, pedagogy, or equivalent performing experience.
  • Demonstrated love of teaching and experience working with young musicians.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and dependable transportation; ability to pass a routine background check.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Instructor pay is commensurate with experience, in the range of $30–$37 per hour.
  • 401(k) with employer matching is available after 90 days on the job.
  • Health benefit packages are available for all part- and full-time employees at Ensemble.
