Overview

143 Studios is the award-winning media production company behind The Mel Robbins Podcast and The Let Them Theory. We’re a fast-growing brand reaching millions through podcasts, books, live events, and global media. We are hiring a Public Relations Specialist focused on the back end of press operations: writing press materials, maintaining press kits, coordinating interviews, and ensuring seamless media execution. This role supports the Senior Marketing Manager and external PR agency to keep systems, content, and follow-through organized and effective.

This role requires understanding the broader cultural landscape, 143 Studios’ long-term trajectory, positioning, and current social and cultural media environment so that every press opportunity fits the bigger brand narrative.

Why This Role Matters

The Public Relations Specialist helps ensure that stories are captured, organized, and shared with precision, reinforcing trust, credibility, and impact. By maintaining the press kit, coordinating interviews, and ensuring seamless execution behind the scenes, you help the brand’s voice reach the world consistently and at scale.

Your Mission

Support the Senior Manager of Marketing Campaigns & Strategic Initiatives and collaborate with our PR agency to keep the press engine organized internally. Manage content, maintain the press kit, and coordinate details for external interviews and launches. Turn every media opportunity into lasting impact by keeping systems sharp, content polished, and insights flowing back to the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Press Operations & Coordination: Support day-to-day press execution, ensuring interviews, launches, and announcements are organized, documented, and delivered smoothly.
  • Copywriting and Content Development: Write press materials, media kits, briefs, and supporting content in the brand’s voice; ensure assets are polished, current, and distribution-ready.
  • Press Support & Q&A: Provide accurate, timely responses to inbound press questions—coordinate with the PR agency and internal experts; pitching and media relationship management remain with the agency.
  • Agency Partnership: Collaborate with the external PR agency, providing background research, content support, and coordination.
  • Talent Support & Briefing: Prepare background research, talking points, and tailored Q&A materials for interviews, ensuring messaging is clear and audience-appropriate.
  • System & Asset Management: Maintain press kits and organize press-related content for quick access; coordinate press clip creation and distribution.
  • Sentiment & Insights: Monitor social media coverage and audience sentiment; analyze press performance and share insights with the team.
  • Event Support: Assist with press and promotional efforts tied to podcast milestones, book launches, live events, and speaking engagements.
  • Multi-Project Management: Stay highly organized, juggling multiple priorities, coordinating schedules, and managing logistics.
  • Cultural & Narrative Awareness: Keep a pulse on cultural trends and the brand’s long-term positioning to ensure press opportunities fit the bigger story.
  • Confidentiality & Liaison Role: Act as a trusted coordinator across teams, safeguarding sensitive information and keeping stakeholders informed of schedules and availability.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of public relations, communications, or marketing experience in a fast-paced environment (agency or in-house).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience supporting press campaigns through content creation, research, coordination, and executing with measurable results.
  • Strong writing, communication, and relationship-building skills; ability to craft stories in our talent’s voice.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with world-class agencies, internal teams, and external partners with professionalism and precision.
  • Experience supporting events, launches, and/or promotional efforts.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to juggle multiple priorities and manage logistics.
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information and sensitive brand matters.
  • Comfortable gathering data and audience sentiment and turning findings into clear insights for the team.
