Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with visual impairments Provide specialized instruction in braille, orientation and mobility, and use of assistive technology Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student learning and independence Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Conduct assessments to evaluate students functional vision and learning needs Desired Qualifications: Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with students from kindergarten through 12th grade Knowledge of braille instruction and assistive technology related to visual impairment Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of an educational team Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that meets diverse student needs Location: Arlington, WA (part-time position) This contract offers a rewarding chance to work directly with visually impaired students, enhancing their academic skills and personal growth.
