About the Role
Within the General Motors Human Interface Design Team, this role focuses on setting strategic design direction across web, mobile, and in-vehicle platforms. You’ll help define and scale a cohesive experience that spans our digital ecosystem.
As a lead designer, you are responsible for providing creative and strategic leadership across key design efforts. You’ll mentor junior designers and help guide them through complex design challenges.
The ideal candidate will have strong conceptual thinking and high-level execution skills. Your portfolio should demonstrate impactful design work across systems and platforms.
Responsibilities

Experience contributing within a cross-functional design team, ideally inspiring a team of designers dedicated to delivering on a product experience or feature
Commitment to supporting an evolving studio culture where designers develop in their careers and feel a strong sense of inclusion and belonging.
Critical for designers to have a deep sensibility and knowledge of user experience design principles, along with an exceptional eye for detail. They will expand on and build out future enhancements to our software experiences and will be involved in individual and group critiques of their work.
Requirements
8+ years of experience creating digital interfaces for web, mobile, or in-vehicle interfaces
Candidate must provide a strong portfolio with work samples showcasing UX expertise, interaction, design, creativity, and depth of thought
Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suites.
Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills
Deep understanding of the competitive landscape

Design degree preferred
Experience in fleet management

Compensation The compensation information
is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
The salary range for this role is $177,000 to $270,900 USD Annual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
