Essential Functions:
Tasks that must be performed by the person in this job. Reasonable accommodations may be requested to enable individuals to perform these functions. Diagnose, troubleshoot, discuss, and resolve wireless communication equipment questions and problems with customers in person, by phone, email, and at the company's shop location. Perform diagnostic and analytical tests to diagnose and repair wireless communication equipment such as dispatch consoles, paging infrastructure, trunked radio systems, and mobile installations. Analyze diagnostic test results and use them to repair and program radios and wireless equipment. Coordinate with customers to determine deadlines, urgency, and schedules for repairs, maintenance, and programming. Prepare quotes and bids. Act as the shop's safety coordinator, collaborating on safety training and implementation. Perform wireless communication system programming according to industry practices and vendor criteria. Install radio and wireless mobile and base communication systems per industry standards. Report accidents, maintenance needs, or repairs while using company vehicles, following safe driving procedures. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with on-call responsibilities for supporting public safety customers, including overtime and travel as needed. Education and Experience
3-5 years' experience in 2-way radio and wireless communication systems, including diagnostics, repair, and troubleshooting. An associate degree or equivalent in electronics and wireless system repair is preferred but not required. Experience with dispatch consoles, paging infrastructure, trunked radio systems, and RF theory. Licenses and Certifications
Industry licenses (FCC, FICA, NARTE), a valid drivers license, and insurability are required. Certifications such as CET or NABER are preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
