Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required

3-5 years of advertising sales, marketing and business

Strong interpersonal communication skills

Strong organizational and problem solving skills

Strong working skills in the use of the Microsoft Office Software package

Candidate should possess the ability to organize and manage a variety of simultaneous activities

Primary Purpose:

The role is responsible for driving advertising and sponsorship growth by expanding revenue, client base, and market presence, as well as overseeing promotional activities that enhance vendors' and the district's partnership visibility. The position builds relationships with potential clients, responds to RFPs, negotiates contracts, collaborates closely with internal teams to develop customized pitch presentations and closes deals. In addition to managing existing accounts, the role prepares proposals and contributes to early-stage campaign ideas. The role plays a critical part in increasing sponsorships and profitability and enhancing the district's reputation and reach throughout the region.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement a districtwide advertising strategy focused on increasing external revenue.
  2. Drive advertising and sponsorship growth by expanding revenue streams, client base, and the district's presence across the region.
  3. Identify, prospect, and cultivate relationships with potential partners, advertisers and sponsors, building and maintaining strong relationships with potential clients, vendors, media outlets, and businesses to foster long-term collaborations.
  4. Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and collaborate with internal teams to develop customized pitch presentations tailored to client needs.
  5. Present advertising packages and sponsorship opportunities tailored to client needs and goals.
  6. Negotiate contract terms and pricing to close sales and meet or exceed revenue targets.
  7. Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and lead generation.
  8. Collaborate with internal departments and creative teams to coordinate and contribute ideas during early stages of campaign development around ad copy, visuals, and messaging that align with client and district goals.
  9. Track and report sales activity, status, and revenue forecasts.
  10. Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions to effectively position advertising solutions.
  11. Conduct market research to identify new revenue-generating opportunities through sponsorships and promotional activities.
  12. Handle day-to-day administrative tasks related to the district's marketing and sponsorship programs.
  13. Grow the district's advertising programs, including digital signage, event sponsorships, athletic promotions, website and newsletter advertising.
  14. Collaborate with district leadership and campus stakeholders to identify high-value sponsorship opportunities across departments (e.g., athletics, fine arts, district enewsletters, career & technical education, etc.).
  15. Track and analyze the performance and ROI of sponsorships and advertising efforts, preparing regular reports for leadership.
  16. Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and district guidelines when engaging with external vendors, advertisers, and sponsors.
  17. Collaborate with the Athletics team during varsity football season to coordinate special event coverage with the student video crew; write game day scripts and assist in scheduling both student workers and CTE instructors.
  18. Participate in weekly production meetings throughout football season to ensure seamless event execution.
  19. Provide support for SCE divisional departments as needed, including assisting in the planning and execution of events, before and after hours.
  20. Liaison between Katy ISD and campus booster clubs as it applies to scheduled events.
  21. Event day sponsor coordination at district level events.
  22. Assist in the creation of unique game scripts for district events.
  23. Other departmental duties as assigned.

Equipment Used:

Personal computer, printer, audio/video equipment, copier, fax machine, projector, digital camera, scanner.

Working Conditions:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Frequent district wide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. May be required to assist other departments as needed.
