The Daily Memphian is seeking a veteran business reporter to join our team. Candidates must have a strong background in business journalism and be skilled at generating story ideas; writing cleanly, quickly and authoritatively; developing sources; breaking news; and working quickly with minimum supervision.


Candidates should have a good handle on earnings calls and corporate culture and feel comfortable talking to C-suite executives.


Our reporters must frequently engage with the local business community as well as spend time in the newsroom regularly to work with editors and other staffers.


Applicants should have at least five years of newsroom experience and at least five years experience as a business or economics reporter. They must also be willing to relocate to Memphis if they don’t already live in the area. Reliable transportation is a must.

Salary/Compensation: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
