Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is hiring: Digital Anchor Reporter in East Providence
Nexstar Media Group, Inc., East Providence, RI, United States, 02914
WPRI in Providence is on the hunt for a rockstar OBS Specialist! If you’re obsessed with livestreams, love being on camera, and know your way around Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), we’re looking for someone who can run the show — hosting, producing, switching, editing, and uploading daily and special video content (including live events). You’ll be a go-to person for everything from breaking news to personality-driven stories — both in-studio and on location.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Creative control of livestreams and video segments using OBS — from setup to hosting to upload.
- Plan and execute daily live shows, breaking news hits, and special projects.
- Book interviews, gather visuals, and prep rundowns — you’re the storyteller and the tech wizard.
- Collaborate on OBS scenes with our graphics team to keep everything looking sharp and on-brand.
- Team up with news, promo, and digital teams to maximize reach and engagement.
- Join live or taped shoots on location — you’ll be in the field as needed.
- Handle live-stream chaos like a pro — multitask, troubleshoot, and keep the show rolling.
- Learn the ins and outs of livestream setups and gear.
- Be open to new ideas and push boundaries in the digital space.
- Polish your work — attention to detail is key to making content shine.
- Know your way around cameras, lighting, and audio; this is a plus.
What You Bring to the Table
- 2–3 years of on-camera work and video production experience (bonus points for technical troubleshooting).
- Solid OBS skills or experience with similar streaming software.
- A self-starter attitude — you spot moments and know how to capture them.
- Awareness of what’s happening in the world and who’s making news.
- Journalism ethics — you value fair, accurate, and legal reporting.
- Great people skills — whether flying solo or collaborating with a team.
- Must be able to work in-person at our Providence studio.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
You must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. You must be able to lift and operate camera equipment, conduct telephone conversations, use email, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions, make decisions without supervision, and work in close proximity to others.
