What You Bring to the Table

Blizzard Entertainment’s audio team is seeking a Composer to assist with creating original music for all of our franchises.

Your primary responsibility will be coordinating with the Music Director and Lead Composers of Blizzard's franchises to deliver appropriate music to spec. This includes creating top quality in-progress representations of all music, and also editing original and non-original musical content into new formats and new content perceivable by others in suitable styles. Also, solely or with direction of other team members, implement musical assets into a game, and all other audio production pipelines including synchronizing music to video. Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must as you’ll be collaborating and working with contacts both inside and outside of Blizzard. External contacts include recording studios, orchestrators, copyists, composers, etc.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA. However, we understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore other possible options, including remote work arrangements.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • 5+ years’ composition experience on AAA titles or music production equivalents
  • Experience coordinating with composers, contractors, studios, orchestrators and other similar services

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to accurately and efficiently manage a large volume of tasks
  • Proficiency with at least one standard DAW and one Notation program
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, and / or within a team
  • Computer literate and familiar with Audio Post Production products
  • Pro Tools literate

  • Willing and able to travel for recording session as needed
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A robust knowledge of music and recording pipelines in the entertainment industry

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $29.81 - $55.14 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Your specific range and offer will be based on relevant experience, performance, and work location. Incentive compensation may be offered and is not guaranteed.
