Position Overview:

To support our expanding global audience, we seek an experienced English to Chinese (Simplified) Translator to help make our certification programs accessible and accurate for Chinese-speaking candidates.

The English to Chinese (Simplified) Translator will be responsible for translating exam content, study materials, marketing collateral, and related program documentation from English into Chinese. The translator must ensure that translations are linguistically precise, culturally appropriate, and technically accurate, particularly in areas of finance, economics, risk management, and artificial intelligence.

  • Ensure translations maintain technical accuracy in financial, statistical, risk management, and AI-related terminology.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and editorial staff to validate terminology and resolve ambiguities.
  • Adapt tone and phrasing for clarity and cultural appropriateness for Chinese-speaking candidates.
  • Review and edit translations to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to GARP’s style and branding guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive exam-related materials.
  • Meet deadlines while balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced, global environment.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree from a Chinese university with a Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Economics, or Risk Management.
  • Graduate degree (Master’s or PhD strongly preferred) from a U.S. university, ideally with a focus in Finance, Economics, or Risk Management.
  • Native proficiency in written Simplified Chinese and strong ability to translate complex concepts clearly and accurately.
  • Native-level proficiency in English, with proven ability to accurately interpret complex financial and technical concepts.
  • Prefer 3–5 years of professional translation experience, ideally in financial services, education, or certification programs.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific terminology (e.g., credit risk, market risk, operational risk, quantitative analysis, AI/ML in risk).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work under strict deadlines.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional integrity.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience translating standardized exam content or professional education materials.
  • Experience working in cross-cultural or global teams.

Working at GARP:

GARP offers competitive benefits and compensation. We will only respond to candidates who are suitable for the role.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.
