Your Impact

Contribute to environmental compliance programs from on-site leadership in Air Quality and Multimedia programs through data collection, analysis, and reporting across environmental program areas including Air Quality, Water Quality, Solid Waste, RCRA sampling, hazardous materials, Petroleum, Oil, Lubricants/Tanks programs.

Responsibilities

  • Supports on-site leads for Air Quality and multimedia environmental compliance programs through data collection, analysis, and reporting for environmental program areas: Air Quality, Water Quality, Solid Waste, RCRA sampling, hazardous materials, Petroleum, Oil, Lubricants/Tanks programs.
  • Supports Senior/Lead Air Quality Specialist and on-site technical leads in data collection, analysis, and report development for federal, state, and local clients.
  • Supports Department of Defense Environmental Programs such as environmental water quality, air quality, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, solid waste, toxics, and planning (e.g., EPCRA Reports, Hazardous Waste Management Plans, Solid Waste Management Plans).
  • Conducts soil, water, and air sampling to validate contaminant presence; prepares Quarterly Sampling reports for wastewater and solid waste programs; develops sampling/analysis/reporting for RCRA and NPDES permit requirements.
  • Supports Air Quality Program by developing Air Emissions Inventories, assisting with Title V compliance reviews, supporting permitting actions, completing annual inspections, and conducting Method 9 opacity observations.
  • Performs technical writing for review/approval by senior personnel.
  • Performs EESOH-MIS VOC content reviews and supports landfill sampling and reporting.
  • Supports AQ Records management through APIMS data entry.
  • Assists senior staff with client interaction and presenting options and results.
  • Technical report writing, data analysis, and client interaction are regular requirements; periodic presentation of project findings to clients and stakeholders may be required.
  • Adheres to internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards; pursues continuous professional development and maintains high discipline, knowledge, and safety awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner and report health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field
  • 0-3 years’ experience
  • Obtain a flight line driver’s license

Experience Required

  • Ability to work well in a team environment; work independently within prescribed timeframes; multitask and support multiple projects
  • Professional interaction with clients and representation of Tetra Tech
  • Working knowledge of CERCLA, EPCRA, RCRA, 40 CFR 112, Title V permitting, CAA, CWA (permitting and emission inventories)
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations in California

Experience Preferred

  • Permit application assembly and emission inventory development
  • Current or previous Common Access Card Holder preferred
  • Knowledge of Air Force data management systems such as Air Program Information Management System, STAR, EESOH-MIS, WET, and eDASH
  • Knowledge of USAF or other DoD organizations
  • ISO 14001 familiarity
  • Sampling, analysis, reporting, and database management

Skills Required

  • Ability to obtain and maintain CARB Method 9 Certification
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a flight line driver’s license
  • Excellent communications and technical report writing
  • Field sampling, use of measuring instruments, data analyses and reporting
  • Computer skills: MS Excel, Word, Access, Adobe
  • Ability to obtain government security clearance and Common Access Card (CAC)

This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.

Additional Information

Background checks may be required for CAC card, CUI Enclave Access, and/or security clearance where applicable. Physical demands include moving up to 30 pounds and on-site sampling of water, soil, air, and mixed media. Work site is Edwards AFB, CA; varied weather conditions and temperatures apply.
