Contract Period: 3 Months

Work Location: 100 Challenger Road, Ridgefield Park, NJ

Overview

We are seeking a skilled UI / UX Developer to design and develop a Progressive Web App (PWA)-based Mobile Web for a Warehouse Automation System. This project focuses on creating a mobile-friendly interface for warehouse users utilizing Object Detection AI Models for Damage Detection Automation. The web application will operate on mobile devices, enabling real-time AI-driven inspection of warehouse inventory.

The ideal candidate should have experience in PWA development, UI / UX design for mobile-first applications, and optimizing performance for real-time image processing. You will collaborate closely with AI engineers, backend developers, and warehouse operation teams to build a seamless and intuitive mobile web experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • UI / UX Design & Development: Design responsive and intuitive UI for mobile warehouse users using React.js (or Vue.js / Angular). Ensure smooth image rendering, annotation tools, and real-time damage detection visualization. Implement user-friendly interfaces for capturing images, annotating detected damage, and interacting with AI results.
  • Progressive Web App (PWA) Development: Develop a mobile-first PWA with offline capabilities using Service Workers & Cache API. Optimize performance for real-time AI model integration and warehouse operations. Implement push notifications, local storage, and background sync to enhance usability.
  • Image Processing & UI Enhancements: Implement Canvas API / WebGL for displaying bounding boxes on detected damage areas. Develop zoom-in & pan functionalities for users to inspect specific image regions. Work with AI engineers to integrate Object Detection model outputs into the UI.
  • Cross-Browser & Mobile Compatibility: Ensure smooth UI performance across various mobile browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox). Optimize UI for touch interactions, gestures, and warehouse mobile devices (scanners, tablets, rugged devices).
  • Collaboration & Testing: Work closely with backend engineers, AI developers, and warehouse operation teams. Conduct user testing with warehouse inspectors to refine usability and workflow efficiency. Debug and resolve UI performance issues in a warehouse network environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • UI / UX Development: 3+ years of experience in mobile-friendly web UI / UX development. Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript. Experience with React.js, Vue.js, or Angular (React.js preferred). Knowledge of responsive design principles (Material UI, Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap, etc.).
  • PWA & Web Performance Optimization: Experience developing Progressive Web Apps (PWA) using Service Workers & Cache API. Strong understanding of Web Performance Optimization (Lighthouse, Lazy Loading, CDN, etc.). Experience in offline-first development using IndexedDB or Local Storage.
  • Image Processing & AI Integration: Experience with Canvas API, WebGL, or SVG-based UI enhancements. Implementing bounding boxes, overlays, and real-time image manipulation. Understanding of RESTful APIs & WebSockets for AI model integration.
  • Warehouse & Industrial UI Considerations (Preferred): Experience designing UI / UX for industrial, warehouse, or logistics environments. Knowledge of touch-based UI / UX design for rugged mobile devices & barcode scanners.
  • Other Skills: Familiarity with Git, CI / CD pipelines for frontend development. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug browser & mobile-specific issues. Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI-based applications or object detection UI. Understanding of Mobile Web Accessibility (WCAG, ARIA standards). Prior work in warehouse automation, logistics, or industrial software.
