Reporting to the Director of Creative Services, the Junior Graphic Designer will design and produce high-quality visual materials such as brochures, infographics, social media graphics, and reports, that clearly communicate government programs and policies while adhering to branding and accessibility standards. The Junior Graphic Designer will also closely collaborate with internal teams, manage design assets, support events and campaigns, and ensure consistent, accurate, and engaging visual communication across print and digital platforms. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Design and Visual Communication
- Develop high-quality visual materials including brochures, posters, infographics, reports, social media graphics, presentations, signage, and digital assets that align with agency branding and accessibility standards.
- Create graphics that clearly communicate complex agency policies, programs, and services to diverse audiences.

-Brand Compliance
- Ensure all designs adhere to government branding guidelines, visual identity standards, and accessibility requirements.
- Maintain consistency in design language across various platforms and departments.

-Collaborative Project Work
- Work closely with Public Affairs, policy, ad program teams to understand messaging needs and develop appropriate visual content.
- Participate in planning meetings and contribute creative ideas for campaigns and outreach strategies.

-Digital and Print Production
- Prepare print-ready files and coordinate with internal or external print vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials.
- Optimize graphics for digital use across websites, social media, and email platforms.

-Asset Management
- Maintain an organized library of design assets, templates, and project files.
- Ensure proper archiving and version control of all design projects.

-Support Campaigns and Events
- Provide creative support for public information campaigns, community outreach events, press conferences, and internal initiatives.
- Design materials for event branding, signage, and multimedia presentations.

-Quality Control and Feedback
- Conduct reviews and revisions of design drafts based on stakeholder input.
- Ensure all visuals are error-free, high-resolution, and align with agency messaging before final delivery.

-Technology and Tools
- Stay current with graphic design software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite).
- Recommend and implement new tools or techniques to improve efficiency and effectiveness of design services.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
