Data Scientist
to join our team, bringing leadership and capability to connect data and outcomes from designs to practitioners, projects, and clients through a creative and collaborative culture. You will demonstrate strong technical aptitude with traditional and cutting-edge methodologies for the collection, management, analysis, synthesis, and assessment of large datasets to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement. What You Will Do
Collaborate with the Data team to develop, train and deploy ML classification algorithms leveraging data from data-rich design authoring tools Leverage outcomes of trained models to explore trends and define insights aligned with business and client needs Define and develop data pipelines in MS Azure to deliver data and insights via Web APIs into data visualization platforms and other Gensler IP, in partnership with Data Engineering colleagues Collaborate with studio colleagues on strategies and innovative solutions to drive insights into early stages of the design process Research opportunities and integrate additional datasets such as geospatial, proprietary, and operational data Research emerging technologies in the AEC space and make recommendations on build vs. buy strategies Support R&D of future Strategic Insights initiatives and a fast-growing data-driven design community Support and drive technical upskilling of project teams to implement sophisticated PowerBI solutions on projects Participate in convergence of multiple aspects of the digital strategy with data and insights generation aligned with business goals Your Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or Computer Science, with equivalent practical experience in Applied Data, Data Engineering, or Data Science 10+ years of practical experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, and/or predictive modeling (AEC industry experience is a plus) Ability to work in a highly creative environment and collaborate on solutions to complex problems Proficiency with Azure services (Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory) and data sources (SQL, NoSQL, including graph, Cosmos DB, JSON in Blob Storage, vector databases) Proficiency in SQL, Python and R (or equivalents) for data manipulation, analysis, and model development Experience with machine learning & generative AI technologies, end-to-end ML pipelines in Azure, and generative AI models/frameworks (LLMs and NLP) Understanding of data governance, privacy regulations, and security best practices Proficiency with data visualization tools (PowerBI, DAX, Power Query) and visualization of ML/GenAI apps (Plotly, Seaborn, D3, Streamlit) Experience with Git and source control in a team environment Experience with Microsoft Fabric is a plus Experience with serverless compute services (Azure Functions) is a plus Experience in Computer Vision is a plus; REST API service development is a plus; C# and event-driven architectures are a plus Azure or other cloud provider certifications are a plus Life at Gensler
