Overview As the Director, Global Product Marketing - Fragrance you will oversee the execution of product marketing initiatives for our Perfume Mists and craft the strategic vision that will propel our brand to new heights. You will blend strategic foresight, innovative leadership, and operational acumen to ensure our products meet consumer needs while embodying and advancing our brand ethos. Sol de Janeiro is a leader in fragrance with a strong focus on the Perfume Mists. This is an opportunity to influence the future of these category-defining products and enhance market share globally.

Location Location: NYC Office (Hybrid – 3 days per week).

What You'll Be Working On

Strategically manage and refine the 3-year rolling product launch calendar, focusing on core and limited edition Perfume Mists to drive category growth, recruit new consumers, and retain existing ones.

Deliver breakthrough innovation concepts based on gap analysis, consumer insights, data, trends, and market reports.

Collaborate with the Executive Director to manage cost and margin targets, assist in setting COG and margin targets by category, and adjust MOB targets to reach gross margin goals.

Develop and manage the rolling product launch calendar, coordinating with Product Development, Packaging, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and impactful product introductions from concept to market launch.

Lead and inspire a team of three marketing professionals, ensuring alignment with category goals, effective briefing, feedback processes, and ongoing development.

Represent the program in strategic meetings with senior management and external partners, advocating for needs and direction.

Collaborate with Global Consumer Engagement and Creative teams to design omnichannel go-to-market strategies and optimize the customer journey across touchpoints.

Work with regional commercial teams to ensure global launches meet local market needs while maintaining brand consistency and relevance.

Use data and analytics to identify fast-growing subcategories and trends to increase market share.

Champion sustainability initiatives within the product lifecycle, from sourcing to packaging, ensuring high environmental and ethical standards.

Analyze category and SKU productivity and provide recommendations for resupport, pivots, or discontinuation.

Must Haves / Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; MBA strongly preferred.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in global marketing within the beauty industry, with a strong emphasis on fragrance.

Proven track record in brand-building, including ownership of product/category strategies and end-to-end execution.

Strong blend of strategic thinking, creative vision, and analytical rigor.

Ownership mindset with ability to lead programs and categories autonomously and with accountability.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Highly organized and detail-oriented, thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Collaborative team player with the ability to build cross-functional relationships.

Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing direct reports.

Hybrid work model with three mandatory in-office days per week; candidates should be based in the NYC metro area.

Compensation Salary Range: $180,000—$205,000 USD
