Overview
Senior UX Mixed Methods Researcher, AI Mode, Search At Google, we follow a simple but vital premise: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." User Experience Researchers (UXRs) make this possible. You will join a multi-disciplinary UX team to gather insights that inform design and product decisions, working with stakeholders across functions and levels. You will lead a global research program to assess AI Mode response quality, collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and developing insights for leadership and product teams within Google Search. Responsibilities
Influence stakeholders across organizations to gain support for research-based, user-centric solutions. Own project priorities in alignment with larger product goals, and oversee allocation of resources within the project. Conduct empirical research using methods from computer science, quantitative social science, statistics, econometrics, and other fields to understand user behavior and extract meaningful patterns from large data sets. Drive ideas to improve products and services through research-motivated insights and recommendations. Prioritize and drive research to improve user experience. Communicate findings to stakeholders in the company. Make research findings convincing for both research experts and non-experts. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 6 years of experience in product research in an applied research setting, or similar. Experience in programming languages used for data manipulation and computational statistics (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, C++, Java, or Go). Preferred qualifications:
Master\'s degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field. 5 years of experience conducting UX research on products and working with executive leadership (e.g., Director level and above). Experience with experimental design, scale development and validation, and unmoderated studies. Experience with advanced statistical modeling, survey weighting, and logs analysis. Experience using LLMs to code qualitative data. About the Job
