Job Title: Senior Structural Designer Location: Birmingham, Alabama Type: 6 month Contract Compensation: $51.00 hourly Contractor Work Model: Remote System One is currently seeking a Senior Structural Designer on a 6 month contract position. Structural Designer Responsibilities: Produce 3D models and design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and/or ductwork Prepare layouts and conceptual designs Review vendor shop fabrication drawings Prepare material takeoffs and assist with cost estimates Coordinate work with other disciplines, clients, and contractors Perform site walk-downs for field verification and to address constructability. Structural Designer Requirements: 20+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience Proficient using AutoCAD Extensive 3D modeling and drawing creation experience is strongly preferred Experience with Advance Steel is preferred Steel and concrete detailing background is strongly preferred Good Technical writing skills Must be able to produce clear, concise drawing notes Able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently The ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé, ALTA IT Services, and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
