CAD Designer

Job Summary:

Skilled in CAD Design utilizing CAD 3D design software with a specialization in custom designs and signage. You will be responsible for creating detailed designs and specifications for various types of Custom one-off projects as well as Visual Displays and signage. This role requires a keen eye for design, proficiency in SolidWorks software, and a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

• Design Creation: Utilize SolidWorks software to develop detailed designs for various types of projects including but not limited to outdoor signs, indoor signs, wayfinding, and custom displays.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure designs meet client expectations.
• Concept Development: Translate client briefs and conceptual ideas into functional and aesthetically pleasing signage and custom displays.
• Technical Drawings: Create accurate technical drawings, schematics, and 3D models that adhere to industry standards for manufacturing, installation, and safety requirements.
• Material Selection: Research and recommend appropriate materials for signage fabrication, considering factors such as durability, visibility, and cost-effectiveness.

· Development: Collaborates with team members in fabrication, and installation to determine production feasibility to meet time frames and costs, within the budget.

• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of design files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications.
• Documentation: Maintain organized documentation of design files, revisions, and project communications for future reference and accountability.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a SolidWorks Designer, preferably with a focus on signage or related products.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks software and other design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of signage manufacturing processes and materials.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate designs.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to design challenges.
• Knowledge in Microsoft 365

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preferred 3 years related experience.
• Experience with CNC machining, laser cutting, and other fabrication techniques.
• Knowledge of VCarve, LED Wizard, preferred 
• Familiarity with rendering software for creating realistic visualizations of designs.
• Understanding of branding principles and ability to incorporate brand identity elements into designs.
• Willingness to further develop personal trainings of software, materials, and/or equipment as company continues to expand into new markets.

• Periods of time in Fabrication Shop around loud noises, dirt, dust, and other elements present in a fabrication shop.
