Job Overview

As a Cosmetic Sales Flex Colleague (Beauty Advisor Flex), you are the trusted expert customers turn to for all things beauty. You help create a personalized and inspiring shopping experience that builds confidence and drives sales.

You’ll serve as both an educator and a beauty expert—offering advice, conducting product demonstrations, and providing tailored consultations that may include makeup application and skincare recommendations. Your product knowledge and trend awareness help you introduce customers to items and innovations that match their needs and style. Building lasting client relationships is core to your role, including proactive clienteling through follow-up, virtual outreach, and personalized service to exceed expectations and achieve sales goals.

They wear their name badge, greet teammates, keep the sales floor clean and organized, review sales goals, learn about new arrivals and top-selling items, and stay informed on current trends and promotions to engage, educate, and sell with confidence.
  • On the floor, they focus on the customer—welcoming, making eye contact, and creating personal conversations to build relationships and bring customers back.
  • Throughout the day, they maintain a shoppable space by recovering the floor and fitting rooms, updating signs and pricing, and supporting merchandise moves.
  • They finish strong—sharing Loyalty program benefits, ensuring customers have what they need, and ending with a sincere thank-you, often using the customer's name.
  • We believe service starts with each other—supporting one another with honesty, care, and collaboration to better serve customers and communities.

Flex Team Colleagues have minimum work requirements of 42 hours per quarter during the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd fiscal quarters (February–April, May–July, August–October). During the 4th Fiscal Quarter (November–January) you will be required to work 60 hours. The minimum hours may change and weekend shifts may be required.

Who You Are

  • Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Must be able to:
    • Understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors
    • Read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English
  • Deliver personalized beauty experiences by building relationships with customers, uncovering their needs, demonstrating product application, and educating them on benefits and use of beauty products
  • Responsible for acquiring new customers by opening credit accounts and sharing loyalty benefits
  • Drive sales and client loyalty by maintaining an organized, shoppable space, leveraging clienteling tools to promote offers and launches, participating in sales events, and staying up to date through training and vendor education
  • Meet and surpass daily sales goals by delivering exceptional service
  • Effectively use point-of-sale technology and digital tools to streamline transactions and enhance the shopping experience
  • At least 1 year of customer service or selling experience required

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands
  • Standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 25 lbs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, reaching (including above eye level)
  • Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
  • Frequent use of computers and technology, including cash register and processing transactions
