Overview
Part-Time Library Technician - Sewell Mill and Switzer Library. These two part-time Library Technician positions are located at the Sewell Mill and Switzer Library. They will work 18 hours per week, including some nights and weekends.
Essential Functions
- Circulation/information services including: checking books in and out; registering patrons for library cards; registering patrons for voter registration cards.
- Collect fines for overdue books.
- Assist in keeping daily statistics.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge about the organization and care of library materials, library services and programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; supplemented by six or more months of work experience involving public interaction/customer service.
Physical Abilities
- Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, including some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of light objects (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods at a keyboard or work station.
Sensory Requirements
- Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
- Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
