Overview
2025-26 Teacher Secondary Long Term Substitute- Music- Rocky Mountain High School at Poudre School District. This Long Term Substitue position covers a leave of absence from 9/2/25 through the rest of the semester. 100% work calendar days: 188. Duration of position: One Semester Only. Benefits include: PERA retirement. Will be paid the long-term substitute rate of $185.00/day. The substitute must have a valid Colorado teaching license or Substitute Authorization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, prepare, and implement: a) Course content, format, structure, and schedule; b) Classroom materials, activities, and lesson plans; c) Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals, objectives, and transition plans; d) Scheduling of staff and meetings in compliance with IEPs.
- Instruct students in large, small, and/or one-on-one settings across curriculum to students with a wide range of skills.
- Organize and facilitate schedules of students and paraprofessionals and assist in the development of master schedule for the Integrated Services department.
- Assist in the supervision and direction of special education paraprofessionals.
- Create a classroom environment which maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise the behavior and wellbeing of students in the classroom and all educational settings, and administer discipline when appropriate.
- Monitor student learning and progress to evaluate success of educational approaches, supports, and services; adapt support as needed; maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs of students.
- Communicate students\' progress and needs with parents/guardians and other staff as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and other special education providers to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes; collaborate with outside agencies to promote student success; participate in team and building-based meetings and discussions.
- Demonstrate a commitment to understanding, appreciating, and making accommodations for student diversity; include and engage families in the student\'s education; support all Poudre School District policies, procedures, and expectations; provide personal and professional excellence.
- Participate in department, team, building, IEP/staffing, and district meetings; student and/or family conferences and other meetings; social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities; professional growth opportunities.
- Attend work and arrive in a timely manner; perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Licenses Required
- Bachelor\'s degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
- Experience in an educational setting with students with special needs preferred.
- Criminal background check required for hire.
- Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) required within 3 months of hire.
- CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
