About the role
Senior SEO & AI Strategist to lead our search visibility efforts in an era of rapid change. This role is not a traditional SEO position — we seek someone fluent in today’s SEO best practices and fascinated by how artificial intelligence is reshaping the search landscape. You will own our SEO strategy across content, technical, and authority pillars and act as an internal thought leader on AI’s impact on search, from AI Overviews to generative search experiences. The ideal candidate is both a builder and a researcher, capable of executing proven SEO tactics while experimenting at the cutting edge of SEO + AI. This role is based in our New York City office in the Financial District on a hybrid schedule (2–3 days in office per week).
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy to drive organic visibility, traffic, and conversions.
- Monitor and adapt to changes in search (including Google AI Overviews, generative engines, and evolving SERP features).
- Partner with content, design, and engineering teams to ensure technical SEO health and optimized site architecture.
- Conduct keyword research and content opportunity analysis with a strong understanding of high-intent pet owner audiences.
- Lead experiments at the intersection of SEO and AI, such as prompt-driven content workflows and structured data strategies.
- Track performance through analytics platforms (Google Search Console, SEMrush, etc.) and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, acting as Fetch’s internal guide on the future of SEO and AI in digital marketing.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of SEO experience across technical, content, and authority-building dimensions.
- Experience with SEO tools such as SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Moz or similar.
- Strong track record of driving measurable growth through organic search.
- Deep curiosity and hands-on exploration of AI’s role in SEO, whether through research, side projects, or industry engagement.
- Experience with AI-powered SEO tools or building custom workflows using ChatGPT, Claude, or similar models.
- Experience with Webflow, WordPress or other CMS.
- Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools (Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to partner across marketing, content, and product teams.
- Creative, experimental mindset — eager to test, learn, and adapt in a changing landscape.
Nice to Have
- Background in pet insurance, pet care, or a passion for pets.
