Garver’s Water Business Line is growing and seeks a Strategic Writer with strong writing skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically to develop client-specific messaging. This role requires collaboration with diverse teams to gather information, simplify complex content, and deliver on tight deadlines. The position reports to the Content Strategist and works closely with pursuit leaders, business planning managers, the content strategist, and proposal coordinators.

This role involves coordinating with the Water Business Planning Managers, Regional Water Directors, Garver’s Communications Team, and other stakeholders on messaging for printed and digital marketing collateral.
Responsibilities
- Work with pursuit teams and proposal coordinators on win theme development, cover letters, and maintaining the strategic vision throughout proposals or statements of qualifications.
- Lead theming and storyboarding for strategic pursuits.
- Customize content for strategic pursuit proposals to maintain the strategic vision.
- Collaborate on crafting, proofing, and reviewing marketing collateral content for each pursuit or audience; update existing collateral as needed.
- Assist with drafting abstracts and presentation outlines for conferences.
- Coordinate messaging for printed and digital collateral with Water Business Planning Managers, Regional Water Directors, Content Strategist, and Garver’s Communications Team.
- Develop and coordinate content for marketing collateral requests (e.g., fact sheets and brochures).
- Draft and coordinate award submissions for industry associations (e.g., ACEC awards).
- Maintain and review content databases (bios, project descriptions, text libraries) and other content as requested.

Basic Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of proposal development experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry.
- Three writing samples (persuasive, technical, conversational) and a cover letter.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Business, Advertising, Public Relations, or related field.
- Willing and able to travel.
Preferred Skills
- Experience as a proposal coordinator or content writer for an A/E/C firm.
- Ability to convey technical content informally for better reader comprehension.
- Experience maintaining content messaging for marketing purposes and coordinating with internal clients to meet deadlines (proposals, abstracts, awards, and advertorials).
- Experience creating a unified writing style and voice; strong ownership of assignments and time management.
- Ability to set and communicate priorities to project teams while managing multiple, fast-paced projects.
Compensation
Projected compensation range: $60,000–$75,000 per year.
