Overview

Work Flexibility: Hybrid. The Strategic Communications lead is responsible for supporting business communications, including business unit leadership communication implementation, communication plans, content, and messaging development. The role will partner closely with the Senior Strategic Communications Manager, business unit leadership, functional and cross-functional teams, and other stakeholders across the company to ensure alignment with business goals and priorities. This is a hybrid role, and you must be based near one of the following offices: Flower Mound, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Denver, CO. This position requires 20% of travel. What you will do

Communication strategy Executes communications strategies aligned with the strategic direction of the business.

Supports the creation of messaging and content for senior leaders in internal and external engagements.

Develops and refines communications best practices with businesses, including communications strategies, plans, and related toolkits to drive greater consistency and effectiveness.

Contributes to defining measurable goals for communications initiatives and tracks performance using established metrics.

Assists in implementing strategies that enhance access to information for internal and external stakeholders and uphold Stryker’s corporate reputation.

Internal Communications Partners with Senior Strategic Communications Manager to develop messaging for business unit announcements, leadership updates, and town halls.

Follows established policies and procedures for internal communications and ensures alignment with brand and business strategy.

Writes and edits a range of business communications, including scripts, announcements, and internal content.

Collaboration Coordinates with external agency partners and internal communications teams to support business goals.

What you will need

Required Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing communications, public relations, or a related field

4+ years of work experience

Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills

Proven expertise in writing and editing in AP format

Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and AP style rules

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering on established timelines

Ability to be persuasive in the absence of organizational authority

Must be able to understand and work within complex interdivisional procedures and policies

Preferred 2+ years of experience in marketing communications, strategic communications, internal communications, or a related field preferred

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and Adobe programs, including Marketo. Design experience preferred

Attention to detail and demonstrates the ability to follow up

Experience creating communication plans, and a track record of hitting key performance indicators

Proven track record of high performance

Ability to be persuasive in the absence of organizational authority

Salary: $77,200-$160,800 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
