Overview
Are you interested in shaping the future of movies and television for Prime Video customers? Prime Video is a leading digital video service, and we are expanding our ads-enabled offerings. The PV Ads team owns services that integrate with ad decision systems and focuses on large-scale systems to power video on demand with ads for a global audience.
As an engineer on a relatively new business, you will tackle challenging, low-latency, high-throughput problems in dynamic ad insertion for video on demand. The systems you design will sit on the core path of video delivery to Prime Video customers worldwide. We leverage AWS technologies including CloudFront, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, SNS, SQS, and internal AWS incubator technologies.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the design and implementation of large-scale, low-latency services for ad ingestion, stitching, delivery, and reporting in a 24x7 environment.
Develop customer-facing experiences and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable video advertising solutions.
Work on the core path of video delivery to Prime Video customers, ensuring quality streaming and accurate ad insertion.
Participate in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, reviews, testing, and operations support.
Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with critical, 24x7 systems.
Experience with high-throughput, multi-threaded systems.
Experience developing web services or other large-scale distributed systems delivered to customers.
Experience building video advertising products is a plus but not required.
Prior experience managing tier-1 services is a plus but not required.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay ranges from $129,300/year to $223,600/year, depending on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company; depending on the position, equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits may be provided as part of a total package.
