The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a Neuro Ophthalmologist to join the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. The position is clinical, full-time, and open rank/track faculty, with a focus on Neuro Ophthalmology. The role includes patient care, research, and education at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Department/Division Overview

The Havener Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at The Ohio State University, is a growing practice with a primary location in the Eye and Ear Institute building near campus. We have state-of-the-art facilities including on-site outpatient surgical centers, and a commitment to high-quality care with the latest surgical equipment and instrumentation. Duties and Responsibilities

The Division Director and/or Department Chair assigns work. Faculty are expected to perform the full range of responsibilities in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Clinical services are a component of faculty duties, with or without the presence of a trainee. The academic mission should be supported, and there will be opportunities to pursue research, quality improvement initiatives, curriculum development, and education initiatives, or other activities aligned with the faculty assignment. Faculty are expected to teach, which may include clinical or didactic teaching and may involve medical students, residents, fellows, undergraduate and graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows. Service commitments include service at OSUWMC facilities and other clinical sites as assigned. Active participation in divisional, departmental, and college committee functions is expected, and participation in local, regional, or national professional organizations is encouraged. Requirements

Qualified candidates must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree. Completed an approved residency program in Ophthalmology, as well as a fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology or Neurology, with additional training in Neuro-Ophthalmology. Board-eligible or board-certified in Ophthalmology. Eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio. Due to contractual agreements with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. citizenship is required for participation in this role. Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of Neuro Ophthalmology. Demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery with evidence of basic and/or clinical applied research and publications. Commitment to residents, fellows, and medical students is required. Their primary focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD/DO degrees may also be involved in clinical care. Research Faculty (regardless of rank)

– Persons with titles such as research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. They hold a PhD or other terminal degree.
