Overview
We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer to join Mycronic's Global Technologies division working within our Applied Plasma business line (Surfx Technologies). Surfx Technologies is a fast-growing company that offers atmospheric argon plasmas for the high-volume manufacturing of integrated circuits, semiconductor packages, printed circuit boards, and other microelectronic devices. These automated plasma machines are used for surface cleaning, activation, and metal oxide removal. Our customers include the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers and technology companies.
The Technical Writer at Surfx Technologies plays a critical role in supporting the Atomflo plasma platform and related products by producing clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation. This role ensures that internal teams and external customers have access to high-quality materials that facilitate product understanding, integration, and troubleshooting. The Technical Writer collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, software, production, and quality teams to translate complex technical concepts into accessible content. This position contributes directly to product success by maintaining documentation standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing the overall user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains technical documentation for Surfx Technologies' Atomflo plasma system and associated products, including user and service manuals, installation guides, software release notes, SOPs, troubleshooting and maintenance instructions
- Collaborates with subject matter experts across engineering, software, and production teams to gather accurate and up-to-date information
- Standardizes documentation formats to align with industry and customer expectations, including SEMI, ISO, and FDA standards when applicable
- Ensures documentation compliance by working closely with quality and regulatory teams
- Manages version control and maintains consistency across all technical publications using tools such as Git, SharePoint, or other document management systems
- Collects and incorporates feedback from internal stakeholders and customers to improve clarity, usability, and completeness of documentation
- Contributes to customer-facing materials such as training guides, quick-start manuals, and FAQs
Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, English, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered
- 5+ years related experience required
- Proven experience creating technical documentation for hardware/software systems, preferably in manufacturing or high-tech environments
- Strong ability to translate engineering concepts into clear, concise, and accessible content for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar authoring environments
- Familiarity with version control systems and document management platforms
- Exceptional written communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and project-management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously
- Experience with industrial equipment documentation and regulatory or standards-driven documentation (e.g., SEMI, ISO, FDA)

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
