Title: Marketing Coordinator

Reports To: Executive Director of Strategy
Salary: Starting Salary $60,000, commensurate with experience
Employee Type: Regular Full Time

Position Overview
As a part of the strategy team, the Marketing Coordinator will produce high-quality, creative, original written and visual content that engages internal team members and builds external brand recognition. The main duties of the role will include creating informative content, producing and sharing engaging content for social media, and seeking opportunities to share Distinctive School’s brand, products, services, and story. This role will be responsible for generating content and community management for 20 social accounts including Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn. Additionally this role is responsible for maintaining content across 11 websites. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented marketing professional who brings strong social media and content creation skills, excellent communication and project management abilities, and a passion for storytelling and student voice to drive engagement.
Responsibilities
Social Media:
Help to define and translate our voice in digital spaces; research and gather information for highlighting the Distinctive Schools story
Build social media presence, monitor company brand, develop strategies for building brand awareness on social media
Manage social media presence, including day-to-day posts and messages across channels (9 Instagram accounts, 9 Facebook accounts, 1 X account and 1 LinkedIn Account)
Provide customer service by answering questions and concerns when necessary in a timely manner
Foster a sense of community by initiating conversations and encouraging user-generated content
Conduct and report analysis of site and social traffic
Monitor social media channels for brand mentions and industry trends
Co-create, maintain, and implement digital marketing and editorial calendar
Manage social media advocates at each campus by providing training, sharing best practices, and providing consultation to ensure monthly metrics are hit for social posts and community email sends
Support our school teams in sharing the Distinctive Schools story
Help develop and deploy Student and Talent recruitment campaigns throughout the year
Campus and Network Website:
Responsible for all campus and network websites, ensuring content is updated consistently; including events, key documents, and updating sources
Produce relevant, valuable, and engaging content for the company websites
Become familiar with keyword placement and SEO
Lead maintenance of REACH Grant Web Support by regularly uploading lesson plans to the REACH website, with strong attention to detail
Ability to pull and share website metrics to support content reach and optimization
Requirements (minimum)
Education
Bachelor’s Degree
Qualifications
1 to 2 years’ experience in creative of marketing field (writing, marketing, communications, blogging, journalism)
A can-do personality with a knack for thinking outside the box to solve problems
Strong work ethic, interest in storytelling + student voice
Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure
Experience with or passion for K-12 education, community development, kids
Experience or interest in photography & videography
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Prioritizes attention to detail
Content Creation skills – graphic design, editing, + management
Technology demands
Web design and/or management. Including understanding of basic HTML and SEO experience
Experience with CRM marketing software Constant Contact, Mailchimp, etc.
Familiar with Marketing Analytics: Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, Webtrends
Proficient in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and Canva
Proficient in social platforms including Meta, X and LinkedIn
Familiar or ability to learn Meltwater
Familiar or ability to learn CMS
Proficient in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
Travel: to various campuses throughout the month
