About the Role
The PCB Design Specialist designs and develops complex detailed layouts of printed circuit boards. Collaborates in developing state-of-the-art designs of new or modified RF PCBs. Establishes design standards and configurations. Works from preliminary schematics, part lists and basic description of the board function, configuration and arrangement as defined by engineering. May perform the checking of design layouts and detailed drawings. Legal authorization to work in the US is required. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our Irvine, CA office. Remote work is not available for this role.
Responsibilities
- Create PCB/PCBA designs using Altium software with input from both mechanical & electrical
- Create schematics and modify as directed by engineers
- Create library symbols/footprints/3D drawings for components used
- Study PCB design trends and processes, evaluate and implement applicable processes for Ezurio
- Conduct design feasibility studies to evaluate goals for packaging, cost, manufacturing and system performance
- Perform complex CAD/CAE tasks requiring extensive skill and knowledge of equipment capabilities and design limitations
- Ensure PCBs are designed observing design for test (DFT) and design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Propose PCB design trade-offs to the engineering design team for resolution and implementation
- Communicate with fabrication vendors for quotations and purchase requisitions; address engineering questions (EQ) from PCB fabricators
- Understand quality design requirements and strive to meet them before releasing the product to manufacturing
- Understand impedance control requirements of electrical bus interfaces and RF circuits; apply basic SI routing rules of thumb
- Follow driving PCB technology and process trends and apply them to Ezurios designs
- Coordinate with Engineering, Test, Quality and Manufacturing during PCB design and fabrication
- Resolve PCB design issues with fabrication and manufacturing vendors
- Contribute to PCB design specifications and standards for product design, electrical design, manufacturing and regulatory requirements to meet design goals and produce high-quality PCBs at the lowest cost and on schedule
Qualifications
- Proficient with Altium, Cadence, or Mentor PCB design software
- Experience with Mechanical CAD tools like SolidWorks or AutoCAD preferred
