EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time (40 hours per week) / 12 months

CCS has been serving Christian families in the Chattanooga area since 1970 and currently enrolls 1,550+ students in the Lower School (Preschool -5), Middle School (6-8), and High School (9-12). POSITION OVERVIEW
The Graphic Designer at Chattanooga Christian School serves as the lead designer for the Marketing & Communications team, producing high-quality creative work across print and digital platforms. The role is responsible for stewarding the CCS visual identity, ensuring design excellence, and delivering projects that align with the school's mission. The Graphic Designer combines hands-on creative execution with senior-level ownership of projects, collaborating with colleagues to deliver polished, impactful communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Leadership & Brand Stewardship
- Develops and produces creative assets for marketing, admissions, advancement, athletics, and school-wide communications.
- Upholds and strengthens CCS's brand identity across all visual materials.
- Serves as the primary designer for campaigns, publications, digital media, and event branding.
- Refines and maintains brand guidelines to ensure consistency and clarity across platforms.
- Oversees visual quality and cohesion of all creative deliverables, including integration of photography and video.
- Manages multiple design projects from concept to final delivery, ensuring deadlines and goals are met.
- Collaborates with the Marketing Manager to translate messaging strategies into effective, mission-aligned design.
- Works directly with departments (Admissions, Advancement, Athletics, Academics) to understand needs and deliver tailored design solutions.
- Coordinates with external vendors, printers, and freelance creatives as needed to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Provides design consultation and expertise across the school as needed.
- Approves all major visual assets before public use.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of CCS
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field
- 5+ years of professional design experience (agency, higher ed, nonprofit, or corporate marketing/communications)
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in branding, print, digital, and cross-platform design
- Proven ability to independently manage complex creative projects
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom)
- Excellent eye for typography, layout, and visual detail
- Experience in K-12 or nonprofit communications
- Knowledge of branding for fundraising or admissions campaigns
- Familiarity with directing or integrating photography and video into design projects
