The Georgia Film Academy is recruiting for Post-Production Training Instructor 2, a full-time position.

The Post-Production Training Instructor teaches seven (7) Post-Production pathway courses in an academic year (3 Fall, 3 Spring, 1 Summer) and manages the courses through systematic use of syllabi and online student learning management system (D2L); performs various administrative responsibilities associated with class management; communicates effectively with students, faculty, and staff, and a myriad of other administrative responsibilities and duties.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of editing and post-production experience, is passionate and articulate about the craft and power of editing and has a natural ability to simplify complex topics. Teaching experience is preferred, but we welcome industry pro’s looking to make a pivot into education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in the qualifying field and ten or more years widely recognized industry work experience on professional Feature Film/TV sets, OR a combination of:
  • Significant recognized experience in the film industry (ten or more years) in editing and post-production workflows
  • Specialized training in television and/or film editing
  • Specialized certification in editing, post-production workflow management, or related domain
  • Evidence of deep, wide-ranging knowledge of post-production processes and workflow, with a focus on practical skills and essential knowledge of editing
  • Expertise in professional NLEs, including Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer, and DaVinci Resolve. A working knowledge of Avid Pro Tools ideal, but not required
  • Teaching experience highly preferred (not required)
