Job Summary/Description
The Creative team at Gray Digital Media (GDM) Atlanta is looking for a Motion Designer to join our award-winning team. Create motion design assets for broadcast news, brand design, commercial production, and community outreach. Our designers create assets for all media platforms on behalf of our brands and clients, including broadcast television, digital media, social media, out-of-home, print, and product displays.
The Motion Designer is a high-level graphics and motion artist with at least two years of experience or a graduate or certificate holder in a related field. This is a part-time, in-office role Monday through Friday, working 25-28 hours per week. The ideal candidate loves feedback, has great attention to detail, is self-motivated, and meets deadlines consistently. This position primarily creates Daily News graphics for our award-winning journalists and will work on quick-turn content for Breaking News and Severe Weather, as well as Digital / Social Media assets for all brand accounts and affiliate sites. The part-time Motion Designer will help with creating full design packages for various brands, television shows, broadcast news, sports, and entertainment, providing ample opportunities to showcase creativity and build a strong portfolio.
Our brands host and cultivate community partnerships with leaders, local non-profits, and highlight people doing great things. The creative team is expected to participate in a variety of community events that support the mission throughout the year.
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the information listed above.
Qualifications
- Advanced design, motion graphics creation, and video editing and compositing skills.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and related 2D or 3D graphics and editing software and plugins.
- Fast when needed, detailed always, and learning constantly.
- Knowledge of Chyron Prime graphic software, or ability to learn.
- Understanding of visual marketing and advertising philosophy and techniques is a plus.
- College degree or equivalent job experience in graphic design.
- Personable attitude and professional communicator.
- Coachable creative who thrives on feedback.
