Overview
ABC Owned Television Stations is looking for an experienced, dynamic Executive Director of News Integration. This leader will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality and impact of news content across platforms. They will collaborate closely with both OTV and ABC News to drive high-value, topical coverage and specials. A key focus of the role will be launching and leading a daily California-focused streaming newscast, elevating the "On Your Side" brand through compelling storytelling while aligning with broader content and synergy priorities.
Responsibilities
- Strengthen collaboration between OTV and ABC News to consistently deliver high-level local news content across all platforms—daily, weekly, and long-term.
- Coordinate and integrate news teams to maximize impact on breaking news, live events, major projects, specialty units, and company initiatives.
- Build and implement strategic initiatives to elevate our core product—local news—by providing tools for growth, fostering editorial excellence, and driving innovation across platforms.
- Oversee OTV’s streaming strategy in close partnership with ABC News Live and create a centralized coaching and feedback system to support newsroom development.
- Work to supercharge partnerships, ensure alignment, and enhance storytelling by leveraging both local and national resources.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in journalism and/or news
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience creating linear and digital video content in a collaborative environment for a platform, agency, network, or brand
- Demonstrated leadership skills, leading individuals and managing stakeholders
- Knowledge of the content creation workflow including videography, editing, etc.
- A positive and optimistic outlook that matches the brand’s mission
- Strong innovation, change management and time-management skills
- Solid background collaborating, building rapport and cultivating relationships across levels
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or other relevant major
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects)
- Awareness of digital formats and trends in emerging platforms
- Familiarity with local news
- Multi-platform experience
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $201,400.00 to $270,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
