As a SEM Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for imaging and analyzing samples which is a crucial aspect of applications/process development and customer support for Multibeam’s unique lithographic tool—enabling new applications for our next-generation electron beam writing system. You will be the primary operator for the SEM, responsible for sample prep and supporting the imaging and characterization needs of the company. This will include performing image analysis to evaluate pattern quality as well as performing FA on system components. The ideal candidate is independent, flexible, and enjoys working in a fast-paced and creative technical environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform SEM inspection of patterned wafers and perform image analysis to determine pattern quality and fidelity. Support other metrology as needed.
- Perform sample prep for SEM analysis. Analyze data and generate reports and presentations to communicate results.
- Wafer processing as needed, including resist coat and development.
- Support process qualification & development.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, recommend changes in procedures.
Qualifications
- Interested and comfortable working with complex and delicate scientific equipment.
- Driven to obtain high quality images from ebeam or optical microscopes, and persistent in obtaining precise and reproducible analysis of these images.
- Hands-on experience with SEM for high resolution imaging of wafers and hardware components preferred.
- Familiarity with SEM sample prep, image analysis, and metrology preferred.
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting lab hardware, or installing new equipment preferred.
- Comfortable working on new equipment without well-established procedures.
- Possess excellent attention to detail, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Education & Experience
- Recent BS or BA grad in a STEM discipline. SEM experience is highly desirable, but not required.
- Non-STEM or non-degree holding candidates only considered with significant SEM experience.
