The Studio and Social Media Coordinator is responsible for carrying out the communications vision for Hope Waukee (a campus of Lutheran Church of Hope), through the direction of the campus pastor and in cooperation with the campus team leaders.

Primary Functions

  • Provide vision, planning, and oversight of Hope Waukee studio production (non-live production support) including video and audio content through self-initiated content, and staff-requested content.
  • Support existing ministries and events through creative, engaging video content for worship services, special events, and social media through filming and editing.
  • Working with Hope Waukee preachers and teachers, support weekly worship through sermon video editing or original content creation.
  • Oversee and further develop the Hope Waukee YouTube channel and content including tech support, promotion, and communication.
  • Actively work to develop a volunteer studio team of adults and/or students to support creation of content.
  • Develop a consistent, organized, reliable, and user-friendly video database of content.

Social Media

  • In coordination with the Communications Coordinator, provide vision, planning, and production of weekly social media content for Hope Waukee.
  • Further develop and coordinate a volunteer social media team that obtains and posts content for various ministry activities.
  • Establishment of a consistent brand for Hope Waukee through social media.
  • Creation of new and innovative strategies to engage our online congregation in and around Sunday worship videos throughout the week.
  • Weekly presence at worship and major events personally and through building a social media team for maximum coverage.

Design

  • In collaboration with the communications coordinator, provide quality, timely graphic design for various church ministries per ministry requests.
  • Work with communications coordinator and church staff to continue to develop designs and branding for clothing and various Hope Waukee merchandise.

Photography

  • Develop an organized and user-friendly photography database of Hope Waukee pictures that is sorted by program and quality.
  • Provide a weekly photography presence at worship and other assigned ministry events personally and through the continued development of a photography team.

Secondary Functions

With the support of campus leaders, the Studio and Social Media Coordinator will also:

  1. Meet regularly with the communications coordinator for debrief, feedback, leadership development and planning.
  2. Attend weekly staff meetings at Hope Waukee, as well as various strategic planning meetings involving studio or social media ministry.
  3. Have a weekly presence at Hope Waukee worship and consistent presence at large events (i.e. Christmas, Easter, Vacation Bible School, large missions events) when necessary or as assigned.
  4. Support the mission, vision, values, and structure of Lutheran Church of Hope and the vision for multi-site ministry.

Skills, Education and Experience Required

  • Possess Christ-centered, joy-filled passion for ministry which flows from a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Ability to supervise, inspire, and equip volunteers.
  • Ability to prioritize and boundary ministry with personal and family life
  • Ability to lead, coordinate and manage multiple tasks
  • 5+ years of video editing and graphic design experience
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Instagram, and Facebook content creation.
  • Possess a passion for creative marketing and branding of a culture and community
  • Hours: Part-Time (20-28 Hrs.)
